Dr. Jan van der Eijk

De Hoogewerff Lezing 2008 werd gehouden door Dr. J. (Jan) van der Eijk, Group Chief Technology Officer bij Shell.

Jan van der Eijk took up his position as Group Chief Technology Officer in May 2006.
Prior to that appointment, Jan had been Vice President Customer Services & Intermediates for Shell Chemicals since January 2005. This appointment followed being Executive Vice President Technology in Shell Chemicals since November 2003. Before this Jan had been Vice President SM/PO & Urethanes, co-ordinating the global business activities for styrene (SM), propylene oxide (PO), polyols, propylene glycols and toluene diisocyanate (TDI).

Starting as a research scientist in the Amsterdam laboratories in 1980, Jan went on to hold various research and management positions in the technology organisation of Shell. Before accepting the position of VP SM/PO & Urethanes in 2000, Jan was Vice President Chemicals Technology Europe. Broadening assignments have included postings in manufacturing and strategy/planning. He has lived in the UK as well as in the USA.

Jan’s educational achievements include a doctorate in physical organic chemistry from the State University of Utrecht (NL).

Jan van der Eijk is verder ondermeer lid van het Gebiedsbestuur Chemische Wetenschappen van de Nederlandse Organisatie voor Wetenschappelijk Onderzoek (NWO).

De Hoogewerff Lezing 2008 werd gehouden op 28 oktober 2008 tijdens het achtste Nederlandse Procestechnologie Symposium (NPS8) in Veldhoven.

Eijk
